From Domination to Partnership: Pathways to Change in Turbulent Times
A live conversation with Riane Eisler
Online, Thursday, 12th June, 2025
7:00-8.30 PM CET (10 AM PST, 1 PM EDT, 8 PM EEST, 10.30 PM IST)
In a world of growing division and uncertainty, could partnership be our most powerful tool for transformation?
Over the past year, I’ve felt deep frustration watching the rise of division, destruction, and inhumanity—I felt a deep desire to DO SOMETHING, not just stand by as people lost support, jobs, hope and lives. I began to question whether partnerships can really drive change and I turned to conversations with others who felt the same. That’s when my colleague Leda Stott pointed me to Dr. Riane Eisler’s work. After reading two of her books and exploring her website, I was struck by the clarity, vision, and bravery in her thinking and writing. It really inspired me. I sent her an email and to my delight, she replied and now we have this webinar to look forward to. – Helga van Kampen, Associate of the Partnership Brokers Association.
Join us for a special webinar with Dr. Riane Eisler: visionary cultural historian, systems scientist, and author of groundbreaking works like The Chalice and the Blade and Nurturing Our Humanity. At 93, Riane brings a lifetime of deep inquiry and courageous insight into what lies at the heart of both human cruelty and human potential.
Having fled Austria as a child during WWII, Riane dedicated her life to one fundamental question: Why are humans capable of such violence—and how can we choose another way? Her work has earned her global recognition, including peace awards in the same tradition as Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama. She offers a profound alternative socio-economic model: Partnerism.
What We’ll Explore:
- In this interactive session, we’ll begin with a conversation and presentation by Riane Eisler, followed by a dialogue among participants. Together, we’ll explore:
- What is Partnerism? How Riane’s journey-from wartime refugee to global thought leader- shaped this framework for a more equitable, caring, and sustainable world.
- How partnerships can catalyze systems change: From education and healthcare to food systems, human rights, and beyond-how can partnerships drive the shift from domination to cooperation?
- Finding agency in dark times: How Partnerism offers a sense of empowerment for those seeking to make meaningful change in a world that often feels regressive and disheartening.
What You’ll Experience
- A deeper understanding of Dominator vs. Partnership systems—and where your work fits in.
- New language and frameworks to support your practice and collaborations.
- Space to connect with like-minded change-makers—many of whom may already be living and working in the spirit of Partnerism without naming it as such.
- Inspiration and clarity about how partnerships can challenge the status quo and foster systemic transformation.
- An invitation to continue the journey—together.
This gathering is for partnership practitioners and change agents across all sectors:
from grassroots movements to public-private alliances. Whether you’re brokering partnerships, building coalitions at national or international level, or nurturing community efforts, you are part of a broader shift—one we believe is worth recognizing, deepening, and celebrating.
Together, we’ll explore how to grow this collective voice—and where it might lead next!
We hope you’ll join us.
